Finn Smith is a seasoned session bass player, multi-instrumentalist, and solo artist based in Melbourne, Australia. With a rich portfolio of collaborative and solo work, Finn has established himself as a versatile and reliable presence in the Melbourne music scene. He has played bass for a variety of projects and artists, including Spürts, Amelia Alessi, Isabella Fortuna, and Tilly Fenton, among others. As a sought-after live musician, Finn regularly performs in venues across Melbourne’s suburbs, bringing precision, adaptability, and energy to every performance.

Finn’s musical journey began early in Woodend, a small town in regional Victoria where he grew up. Surrounded by limited resources, he became self-sufficient in his craft, learning multiple instruments and developing his skills across production and graphic design to manage every aspect of his projects. Starting with the keyboard, he expanded to bass, guitar, drums, and beyond, amassing the skills he needed to create and produce his own music independently by the time he finished high school. His unique background has influenced his artistic approach, fueling his commitment to creative control and self-sufficiency.

Finn’s solo music project highlights his stylistic diversity and creative breadth. His catalog includes everything from the reflective folk track "Do Not Go Without Me" to the dark, intense sounds of his instrumental thrash metal EP "Nightmare Comes True", and even ventures into psychedelic and funk in the experimental EP "Viscosity Seven: The Exploration". This range reflects Finn’s experimental spirit and technical skill, allowing listeners to explore various musical landscapes through his work. Every release is fully self-produced, with Finn handling composition, performance, recording, production, and design from his home studio.

After studying music at university, Finn has expanded his technical and theoretical knowledge to complement his practical experience. He has a clear vision for his musical future, with plans to release new music throughout 2025 and opportunities for live shows on the horizon for Melbourne audiences. Finn’s dedication, passion, and versatility continue to define him as a dynamic presence in Australia’s music scene, both as a collaborator and as an independent artist.
